Benjamin Vaughan’s journey into bat work began in 1994, after a chance conversation with a bat specialist from New York State, when he realized that were no bat specialists in Ontario. That moment changed everything. He realized that there were thousands of Homeowners across Ontario who had no options other than to buy cheap devices or hire non specailist wildlife companies and pest controllers who lacked the needed expertise to offer permanent solutions for their bat problems.
Within a few years, Ben and his best friend Ken Charboneau were working all across Ontario and part of Quebec, bringing relief to homeowners struggling with bat issues while refining the humane exclusion techniques that would become the gold standard in the industry.
Three decades later, Bat Control Specialists remains one of the only Canadian company devoted exclusively to humane bat exclusion. Ben has worked with thousands of clients, consulted on projects across the world, produce content for the highest rated Youtube channel devoted to bat problems, and appeared in many television shows alongside star such as Mike Holmes and also starred in HGTV’s Halloween Special, House of Bats.

1995
Province Wide Expansion & Beyond
Began working on jobs across Ontario, rabid demand followed (pun intended) Began receiving calls from Quebec. Had to learn French (Alor. Ces’t un bon chose vraiment)
2001
Bat Control Specialists Goes Online.
Officially launched Bat Control Specialists Website as Ontario’s first bats-only company.
2006
Began Bat Control Specialists Youtube Channel
Began making and posting the world’s best content about residential bat problems. 20 years & Hundreds of thousands of views later it remains the best bat control channel in the world watched by people around the planet.
2013
HGTV’s House of Bats
Starred in the HGTV’s Halloween Special House of Bats, bringing humane bat removal into living rooms across Ontario and beyond.
